Things I use in my shop

Things I use a lot in my studio. This is a short list of the things I use daily in my shop, I simply could not survive without them

Dr. Klick’s Kit: Dental tools with 101 uses.
I got this several years ago for Christmas. I use it all the time. I love it. Go get it.

Gorilla Glue: For the toughest jobs on Earth.
I firmly believe their slogan. I have tried Weldbond and other “Space Age” glues But they just don’t cut it. The don’t have the holding power of Gorilla Glue or other Poly-urethane glues. Make sure you slightly wet one surface prior to using the glue. And when you are done using it expel all the glue from the bottle or store it upside down. This will keep it from hardening in the bottle.

PVC Cutter: I can’t live without this item.
PVC is like tinker toys for the prop builder, This tool saves so much time its ridiculous.

Stainless Steel sculpting tools from Monster Makers: I use these all the time when sculpting, and they are fairly indestructible.

A Squirt bottle filled with a cup of water and a few drops of fabric softener. This makes a very good paintbrush cleaner.

  • I use Gorilla Glue, too, the kind in the little tubes, when I make my steampunk collage pendants. It has the best hold, and takes the longest to erode off of my fingertips. Also great for gluing watch parts to your hands.

  • Thanks for the peek into your chamber of creations.
You may want to edit your Gorilla Glue technique for storing glue. Instead of “when you are done using it expel all the glue from the bottle and store it upside down” you might want to just expel the air from the bottle, saves on glue that way. Heh!!
