Every year after October has came and gone and the holidays have passed my shop is a mess. Remnants of unfinished things clutter the shop floor and discarded junk litters the shop floor (I am horrible about using a garbage can) I clean it and spend a fair amount of time reorganizing supplies and looking online at new tools and researching new products and techniques. My shop is in an uninsulated basement and the temperature down there hovers around the mid 40′s to the mid 50′s I think. A bit to cold for me to work with air dry products which are my medium of choice.
But Now I am in the middle of a house move and the new place has a 2 car detached garage which will be my new studio. This will be great. So currently my shop is all in Rubbermaid bins, tool boxes, cardboard boxes, paper bags, garbage bags, etc… and sitting in the basement of the new house. The garage at the new house is being leased to someone until the 3rd week of July. At that point I will unpack and rebuild the studio into the new space and begin creating again.
I haven’t created anything new in probably 8 months but a lot of new ideas are swirling around in my head. It has been a nice break. But I am itching to get back into the studio. Keep an eye open for new pieces to appear soon.
