Illustrated Ink is a fantastic artist who has a fondness for Dia de los Muertos, and Tattoo design. You see some of her fantastic work here at illustratedink.etsy.com and also visit her blog to see what else she has going on illustratedink.blogspot.com
I first discovered “Dia de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead) when I was a teenager living in Mexico. I fell in love with Mexico’s vibrant colors and life. They have such a comfortable, accepting relationship with death-which is very unlike our American culture. I strive to bring that feel and passion for color to my work. My art is also heavily influenced by my love of traditional tattoo design. It’s full of vivid color as well, and a boldness that I find wonderful. I married “Dia de los Muertos” and tattoo design, then came the birth of Illustrated Ink!
My favorite pieces to create, involve taking everyday, functional pieces for the home and giving them a new life. I offer my prints and paper goods in my Etsy shop, and I sell my functional pieces weekly on eBay. I’m a full time artist residing in Austin, living my dream of creating art everyday!
